About the Ohio School Wellness Initiative
The Ohio School Wellness Initiative (OSWI) was designed to explore, implement, and sustain a full continuum of care including prevention, early intervention, and treatment practices for K-12 students within local districts who adopt Student Assistance Programs (SAPs), Tier 2 and 3 supports, and staff wellness frameworks. OSWI was founded out of Miami University’s Center for School-Based Mental Health Programs (CSBMHP) in 2021 in partnership with the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) and Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) and was funded by Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (GEER) funds under Ohio's share of Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) funds.
